California Apartments

The family run California Apartments have long been a favorite with the British and Irish, and it’s not difficult to see why. The apartments offer simple yet very well cared for accommodation and are superbly located, just a short walk from the small, sandy bay of Cala'n Blanes in one direction and close to the lively resort of Cala'n Forcat with restaurants, bars, entertainment and shops in the other.

Originally built in the tranquil area of Cala’n Blanes in 1985 by Toni Serra and managed by his wife Maria for more than 20 years, the business has since been passed on to their son Andreu and his wife Juani Florit who run the apartments with the same enthusiasm and personal dedication which became so loved by regular customers.

The 17 individual apartments are located in two separate buildings, each with their own pool, children’s area, garden with sunbeds, parasols and Bar-B-Que, making for a small friendly community that’s perfect for families with children where neither pool gets too crowded. California 1 houses the small reception area where keys are collected and is approx 50 metres apart from California 2 on the other side of a minor road.

The apartments are modern, comfortable and well equipped having been completely refurbished in 2003. Each features a combined living room, which can convert into a bedroom, either one or two separate bedrooms to sleep a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults and 2 children, fully tiled bathroom, a modern kitchenette and a balcony or terrace. Facilities include bath with shower fitting, hairdryer, electric oven, iron, flat screen TV, radio as well as a safe for hire and WiFi access. There is also a free laundry room in each apartment building. Apartments are cleaned and new towels supplied twice a week, bed lined is changed once a week. There is also parking and a bus stop next to the premises.

The apartments are particularly suited to families with young children and younger couples seeking a peaceful holiday and independence in a friendly, family environment yet close to all amenities.

New for 2011, scooters and electric powered bicycles are available for hire and a convenient shuttle service to and from Mahon airport can also be arranged.
