torre-den-gaumesThis is the remains of a large talayotic town situated on a hill giving it enormous tactical advantages in controlling the surrounding countryside. It was enclosed by defence walls. Chronologically it dates back to the pre-talayotic period of about 1400 BC, but also remains from medieval times have been found.

It is situated in Alaior on the Son Bou road and is open all year round Tuesday to Sunday. From May to September the admission fee of €3 includes a guided tour. Sundays free.
