New Golf Son Parc Menorca Welcomes All

GSP_View-Apartments

Located on the north coast of the island, in the Urbanisation of Son Parc, Menorca’s one and only Golf Course opened in the early 1970’s as a 9 hole course.  It was then extended to 14 and finally completed to 18 holes in 2006, as a PAR 69.  Recently it has undergone a major redesign and upgrade, resulting in it now being a PAR 71.

For anyone who is thinking about playing golf in Menorca for the first time, Golf Son Parc Menorca is a championship quality course, suitable for both experienced golfers and beginners, located just behind Son Parc beach (Arenal de Son Saura del Nord) on Menorca’s north coast with inland views of Monte Toro, the island’s highest point, in the distance.  The course is surrounded by wooded hills, native flora and a protected wet zone with a rich variety of bird life, not to mention a flock of peacocks who live just behind the third green..!

Since its initiation, the layout has taken into account many Environmental issues.  The course suits all levels of ability.  It is open all year round with Club and Buggy hire available, along with the opportunity for Golf lessons from beginners to experienced.  There is also a Practice Area which can be used on an ad hoc basis with a small entrance fee.  The Course Manager, Paola, along with her two assistance Carmen and Carmen (Yes, they are both called Carmen!) are always available to help in the gold shop.  Booking a tee off time is always best done in advice either by phone or email.

Special Monthly Offers: Each month, Golf Son Parc have special offers on green fees and equipment hire out of peak times, so it’s best to keep an eye on their regular offers via their website.

Going green:

The entire complex is a worth a visit just for its beautiful surroundings, and visitors are welcome to walk around the course, providing that they ask at reception first. Golf Son Parc takes its commitment to the environment very seriously – Menorca was awarded UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status in 1993. The expansive greens stay that colour thanks to rainwater and a sprinkler system powered by recycled water from the nearby water treatment facility. The trees, shrubs and water features make an ideal habitat for island fauna, so don’t be surprised if you spot wading birds in the nearby wetlands or even a cheeky peacock striding across the green!
