One customer travelled with us, while the other flew to Valencia for the event where we were able to enjoy the build up and soak up the atmosphere trackside, just 5 metres from the Grand Prix cars. The atmosphere throughout was electric, buzzing with glamorous people, wonderful food and plenty to drink, not to mention the incredible cars and their drivers…what more could you want…?”
The Fairline party enjoyed tours of the pits and garages and had the opportunity to meet some of today’s most famous F1 drivers, including Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel where they were able to ask for autographs and wish them good luck. In addition, they also enjoyed the GP2 and GP3 races which were very exciting, not least that they witnessed a spectacular crash just a few metres away from them.
Plans are already underway for 2012, when Fairline Menorca is planning to take six or seven boats to the Grand Prix, but this time making more of an event in getting there with overnight stops in Mallorca, Ibiza.
As Chris Reeve, Director of Fairline Menorca, says: “We are delighted to be able to offer exclusive yet affordable track-side moorings for our customers with prime viewing of this high profile sporting fixture. If any other Fairline owners or other yacht owners are interested in taking part next year, please contact either myself or Garry at the Fairline Menorca office for more information.
However, it’s not quite all glamour. Hard work also plays a huge part in Fairline Menorca’s success this year and the team were delighted when one happy customer took delivery of the first Squadron 42 to be sold in the Balearics a few weeks ago. Launched at the Southampton Boat Show last September, the Squadron 42 is the only boat of its size that can carry a Williams Jet Rib. Its innovative design also means that it has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, can sleep six and also has the same size flybridge as the previous Phantom 48 as well as the unique Fairline Tender Launch system. With the basic model starting at £328,400 ex tax, the Squadron 42 is a great buy for the money.
Alternatively, the new Squadron 50, launching at the Southampton Boat Show in September, which is based on the Targa sports design but with a Squadron flybridge, is something to look out for. Combining spaciousness with luxury accommodation and cruise practicality, it is a class leader relative to yachts of a similar size. The standard model starts at £592,300 ex tax. The Fairline Menorca team has also sold a brand new Squadron 55 and the flagship Squadron 78 for this year. Chris continues: “If you would like to discuss buying a new motorboat or looking to upgrade your existing one and would like to see what Fairline has to offer, why not join us for an informal chat at our frontline office or VIP lounge facility, both on Mahon Harbour. You can also have a look around the many Fairline motor yachts moored on the pontoons.”
