“An extremely positive Show that generated serious interest for us despite a lower footfall,” is how Chris Reeve, Director of Fairline Menorca, summed up the 2012 London Boat Show held at Excel in January.
“With the full range of Fairline motor yachts on display, the London Boat Show is always a great event for attracting an international audience and showcasing new models,” he continues. “Now back in Menorca, Garry and I are busy following up leads on 78, 50 and 42 Squadrons, which we are hopeful will be ordered and delivered in time to enjoy the summer season. The all new Targa 45, due out next year, also generated a lot of interest. This really is a fantastic new model with a new Volvo IPS engine system complete with joystick control, a tender garage to house a Wiliams Jet RIB, very large sunbathing beds on the stern and bow, twin stern access making mooring easier, a very large social cockpit, two massive double cabins and a large electric retractable roof system. Pop into our offices for further details.”
Mention to anyone that you own a boat and the first comment is often, “I bet that costs you”. True, the boating world and low running costs don’t usually go hand in hand…that is, perhaps, until now.
Intermar is a brand new marine company, established in Menorca in recognition of the current economic climate to provide a different kind of marine service that really does offer exceptional value for money. Established by marine veteran Chris Collman, the philosophy behind the new venture is simple. He believes that the marine industry in Menorca has allowed costs to spiral to such an extent that the customer can no longer get affordable enjoyment from their boat, which in turn may lead to a forced sale in a market that will not sustain sensible prices.
“Fantastic, the event far exceeded our expectations...”, was how Chris Reeve of Fairline Menorca described the 2011 Southampton Boat Show at the end of September. The team returned to Menorca triumphant that the Fairline Group sold a total of 18 new yachts during the ten day show period.
“It was an especially exciting show for us as we were World Premiering the all-new Targa 38GT with electric retractable roof, the 4-cabin version Squadron 65 and the brand new Squadron 50”, says Chris. “And, it was also the Southampton debut of the all-new Targa 50GT.” The customer feedback was tremendous and everyone at the Show agreed that Fairline offers the highest quality and best specified boats around.
