19.00 hrs: The cavalcade starts to form and tours the village. A member of the Residents Association Committee hands over the Fiesta Flag to the Caixer Fadrí and the first sounds of the ‘fabiol’ (flute) sound out. The Staff of Office is handed over to the ‘Caixer Batle’ by a member of the Mahón Town Council. The Caixers (horse riders) make their way to the parish church where the Caixer Batle and Caixer Capellà (fiesta priest) are waiting for them.
19:30 hrs: The Caixers form two lines and enter in the church of Sant Gaietà in thetraditional order, led by the Caixer Batle, Caixer Capellà and Caixer Pagès for Vespers (Completes) in honour of the village’s patron saint, Sant Gaietà.
20:00 hrs: The ‘Jaleo’ takes place in the Plaça Sant Gaietà accompanied by the Mahón Municipal Band. After three circuits of the village, the Caixer Batle and Caixer Capellà depart.
22:30 hrs: Open air dance in the basketball court with live music from the group ‘Fragles’.
Sunday 4 August : The day of Sant Gaietà / San Cayetano
09:00 hrs: Morning Reveille led by the Giants of Llucmaçanes, Juan and Rita, accompanied by the Dalt Sant Joan Bugle and Drum Band.
10:00 hrs: The cavalcade sets out for the church of Sant Gaietà
10.30 hrs: Mass for the caixers is celebrated during which the ‘aigua-ros’ (distilled rose water) is distributed.
12:00 hrs: The second ‘Jaleo’ takes place in the square accompanied by the Mahón Municipal Band. The Caixers tour the village two times and during the third circuit they are presented with the traditional green canes and silver spoons.
The cavalcade forms a horseshoe shape in the square for the Llucmaçanes Anthem, after which the Caixer Batle and Caixer Capellà bid farewell. This is followed by the ‘beguda’ (reception and refreshments) for all the riders when the Caixer Batle thanks the cavalcade and hands over the Staff of Office to the Mayor of Mahón (or a representative) and the Caixer Fadrí returns the Fiesta Flag to the Residents Association. The president invites everyone to have a drink and to say goodbye to the Caixers until next year, bringing the cavalcade protocol to an end.
19:30 hrs:The Llucmaçanes Giants parade the streets accompanied by the Mahón Municipal Band and other invited groups.
22:00 hrs: Performance by the theatre group Set de Menorca of Ho Diu Es Diari.
22:30 hrs: Grand firework display.
Monday 5 August
18:00 hrs: Children’s games and entertainment followed by a performance from children’s music group Pinyeta Pinyol at 19.00 hrs.
20.30 hrs: Tradicional Sardinada, fresh sardines cooked on a huge Bar-B-Que, and then enormous sponge rolls filled with chocolate and custard.
22:30 hrs: Open air dance with DJ Chicha
24:00 hrs: A burst of firecrackers brings the fiestas to an end.
