20.00 hrs: Singing around the streets of the town with the group Dit i Fet. Children’s entertainment, El Mon de n’Edu magic show in Sa Plaça.
20.30 hrs: Final of the 7-a-side football tournament 2013 at the municipal football ground
21.00 hrs: Finals of the 19th Sant Llorenç 3 x 3 Basketball Tournament organised by CB Jovent Alaior in the municipal sports hall.

Friday 9 August
20.30 hrs: The Pregó, official announcement and invitation to the fiestas, by Ricard Ramisa Music Director of the Alaior Festival of Song in Avinguda del Pare Huguet. The Mayoress of Alaior presents the Fiesta Flag of Sant Llorenç (San Lorenzo) to the Caixer Fadrí, accompanied by the Ciaxer Casat, Caixer Pagès, and Fabiolera of the cavaldade. Horseman Antoni Riudavets Florit will be publically honoured for his 25 years participation in the cavalcade.
Following the first ‘toc’ (note) of the flute, the fiesta flag is taken to the Town Hall and the townspeople are invited for refreshments. The festivities continue with a performance by the group Sonadors de Son Camaró in Avenida del Pare Huguet,
23.00 hrs: Alaior Summer Concert with the group Txarango with guest DJ Fede Garcia in the courtyeard of Institut Josep Miquel Guàrdia.
Saturday 10 August
10.00 hrs: A representative from the Junta de Caixers (committee of horse riders) plus other horse riders make the traditional ‘Gloriós Sant Llorenc’ visit to invite all the townsfolk to participate in the fiestas.
16.40 hrs: The Fabiolera (flute player) goes to the Town Hall to ask permission to form the cavalcade, the horse riders then gather together from different parts of the town.
16.45 hrs: A peal of bells and burst of rockets announces the start of the parade with the Bugle and Drum Band, the Alaior Giants and other invited carnival groups. The parade follows the traditional route around the town.
17.00 hrs: The Caixer Fadrí, accompanied by Fabioler, the Caixer Pagès and Caixer Casat, go to the Town Hall where they request permission to form the cavalcade and the Fiesta Flag of Sant Llorenç is handed over.
Once the cavalcade is gathered at four different points around the town, the riders proceed to the rectory to collect the Caixer Capellà, and then onto the Town Hall to collect the Caixer Batle and a representative of the local police. The traditional fiesta drink of ‘pomada’ (gin and lemon) is offered to the people of Alaior. The cavalcade tours the town before making its way to the hermitage of Sant Pere Nou.
18.00 hrs: The Es Migjorn Band also makes its way to the hermitage playing a lively music repertoire.
20.00 hrs: Evening Mass (Compline) is held attended by riders, local dignitaries and authorities.
21.00 hrs: The cavalcade returns to Sa Plaça for the traditional ‘Jaleo’ to music from an amalgamated band of musicians from Menorca and cheers from the lively crowd, when the caixers parade around the square and then tour the streets of the town two times, after which the Caixer Batle and Caixer Capellà depart.
An hour later there is a traditional ‘Beguda’ (reception) for the riders in the Town Hall before the cavalcade disperses. This is followed by a public open air dance next to the sports centre with music from the group Sarau.
Sunday 11 August
09.00 hrs: The Alaior Trumpet and Drum Band together with the Giants, carnival figures and invited Giants from Mallorca set off for the morning Reveille with a lively parade around the main streets.
09.30 hrs: The cavalcade begins to gather at the four points around the town and then collects the Caixer Capellà and the Caixer Batel from the Town Hall before touring the town.
10.30 hrs: The riders arrive at the Church of Santa Eulália and then set off for the Town Hall to collect the council members. The statue of Sant Llorenç (San Lorenzo) is taken from the Town Hall to the Santa Eulália church, accompanied by children in traditional Menorcan costume and the Es Migjorn Gran Youth Band. Mass is held by the Caixer Capellà for the riders, attended by local dignitaries and authorities, during which the traditional ‘aigua-ros’ (distilled rose water) is distributed.
12.00 hrs:The cavalcade then tours the town before making its way to Sa Plaça for the second ‘Jaleo’, with traditional fiesta music from the Es Migjorn Band. After two circuits of the town, the riders are presented with the traditional green canes and silver spoons after demonstrating their amazing equestrian skills.
The Caixer Batle is then escorted back to the Town Hall and the Caixer Capellà to the rectory and the Fiesta Flag is returned to the Town Hall. In the afternoon the riders distribute the rose water to houses in the neighbourhood.
20.00 hrs: Music and traditional dancing in the Plaça des Ramal with the folk group ‘Tramuntana’ from Ciutadella.
20.30 hrs: A spectacular parade of floats through the town involving more than 800 participants, each float individually decorated with montages and animation. Now in its 42nd year, the theme this year is ‘Mary Poppins’, one of the best musicals in cinema history.
Accompany them are the Giants, carnival figures, majorettes and Drum Band while the crowds throw confetti and streamers.
00.30: Grand firework display in the ‘zona escolar’ (school area).
01.00 hrs: Grand public open air dance with the music from the group Fraggles in Los Pinos municipal sports ground. Entrance free.
Monday 12 August
12.00 noon: Mass in the parish church of Santa Eulália in memory of those people of Alaior who have died in the past year.
13.00 hrs: Public tribute to Catalina Mercadal Sintes, na Kay, in recognition of her dedicated work in educating children in the Sant Diego Cultural Centre.
18.00 hrs: Corregudes (races) with horses, donkeys and people for trophies presented by the Town Hall in El Cós.
19.00 hrs: Display of rhythmic gymnastics by the Gimnàstica Rítmica Club of Alaior in front of the municipal sports hall.
20.30 hrs: Spectacular roller skating show ‘Festival de Sant Llorenç’ with the Alaior skating club at the municipal sports hall.
23.00 hrs: Open air dance with the group Huracán in the Plaça Nova.
00.30 hrs: A final burst of firecrackers brings the fiestas to a close, although the festivities go on well into the early hours.
