Commenting on his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Spain, and non-resident Ambassador to Andorra, Simon Manley said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to serve the United Kingdom in these two beautiful countries. I look forward to working in Spain with one of our largest trading partners, a key ally within the EU and NATO, and holiday destination for, and home to, so many Britons.”
Simon Manley is married Maria Isabel Fernandez Utgès Manley and has three daughters. He will be the second official new face to be welcomed by British ex-pats resident in Menorca in 2013. The first being Andrew Gwatkin who was appointed British Consul for the Balearic Islands at the end of 2012, and made his first official visit to the island in May when he met a group of British residents at a reception at the Hotel Carlos III in Es Castell, hosted by Menorca’s British Honorary Consul, Deborah Hellyer MBE.
