New Golf Son Parc Menorca Welcomes All

PDFprintemail

GSP_View-ApartmentsMenorca’s only golf course, Golf Son Parc, is now under the new management of Golf Son Saura SL since 1 February 2013, bringing with it some great new golfing packages designed to offer a more flexible and cost effective service to those who enjoy a round of golf while on holiday. But residents and regular visitors need not worry. To all intents and purposes, nothing about the facilities or atmosphere have changed. The picturesque 18 hole golf course within its beautiful pine tree setting is still the same as is most of the friendly team ready to welcome you, headed up by longstanding General Manager and Local Director, Paola Ferroni and Scottish Course Manage Gary Reid, who joined Son Parc Golf four years ago.

PDFprintemail

From energetic water sports to a round of golf with friends or perhaps simply watching a cricket match in the sun, Menorca offers an exceptionally wide range of sporting activities to enjoy. This section provides a snapshot covering what’s available from a cross section of specialist companies as well as what’s happening at the various clubs around the island.

BASKETBALL

menorca_basketballBasketball is a very popular sport in Menorca, played enthusiastically by teams in schools and at sports clubs around the island. The Spanish basketball league (ACB) is divided into divisions and organised in a similar way to football with promotions and relegations. The top league is the ACB Division. Menorca’s professional team, Menorca Basquet, (previously named Vive Menorca from 2006-2010) currently plays in the ACB and is avidly followed by most Menorcans.

Water Sports

With over 216km of coastline and over120 beaches, Menorca has been a popular beach holiday destination since the early 1970s, but check out the many water based activities readily available for the more energetic.

Canoeing and Kayaking

KyakkingCanoeing and kayaking can be enjoyed all year round but are a lot more popular in the summer months. There are water sports companies located in most of the larger resorts, with several in Fornells due to its excellent waterside position, which offer canoes and kayaks for hire, or guided tours lasting three to four hours or you can enrol in a course. You usually have to be 15 years or over and it is necessary to book in advance.
