Aroma Sensations has to be the most exciting new find for fine dining in Menorca for 2012. Occupying a prime location on Mahon Port and previously well known to many as Marivent, the premises has been completely refurbished taking it to the next stage to create an uber cool, yet informal gourmet tapas bar and restaurant above with stunning views out over the harbour.
Now in its 22nd year, this well established restaurant and pizzeria is still one of the busiest and most popular places to meet and eat on the port of Mahón. And, it’s easy to see why… ROMA’s great location with views over the harbour, large covered outside terrace, well priced menu and welcoming atmosphere combine to offer stylish yet informal dining for all the family.
ROMA is professionally run by owner José Luis Martinez whose passion for good food, attention to detail and efficient service emanate throughout the restaurant’s friendly team. His many year’s restaurant experience on the island include ten years running a pizzeria in Calas Fonts and so, as you would expect, the pizzas are excellent.
Komodo Chill Out Lounge & Restaurant in Mahón is an amazing place to chill out whenever the mood takes you, whether relaxing over cocktails with friends early evening, leisurely dining or a late night drinks to complete a great night out.
Komodo’s Balinese style décor is the passion of manager Rubén, the main focus being an eclectic mix of Buddhas and other oriental artifacts which are displayed throughout the four separate chill out zones.
There is something about Ars Café just off the Plaza del Principe that makes you want to return. Is is a great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch especially now there are outside tables and chairs since the surrounding area has been made pedestrian.
The Menu del Dia is simple, honest and freshly prepared with two choices of both starter and main course that change each day, for example goats cheese salad followed by fish, chips and tartar sauce or deep fried artichokes followed by risotto with chicken and vegetables. There is always a vegetarian option. A selection of desserts, a drink and bread is also included in the very reasonable price of €14. There is also a Menu del Noche at €16.
STOP PRESS: This well known Tex-Mex restaurant and bar on Mahón harbour has undergone extensive renovation and reopened in May 2012 as Rock and Beer, a music and sports bar. Still offering a great selection of speciality beers, cocktails, wines and spirits as well as Tex-Mex favourites, pizzas and other snacks, Rock and Beer is very much a late night music venue. Major sporting events will also be shown.
