Just visit the website: www.menorcatapas.com and print off the Tapasaporte entry form, which also gives details of each venue’s specially prepared tapas, or pick one up in any of the participating locations which are listed on the website. Customers need to visit a minimum of four establishments and get their Tapasaporte stamped, When they have four stamps, they then vote for their favourite tapa and venue, write out their contact details and place the form in a Tapas x Menorca voting box, which will be entered into a prize draw to win a selection of prizes. The first prize is a weekend in a hotel for two people in the area of their choice in Menorca, including dinner, organised by VisitMenorca.
The main objective of this annual event is to promote and keep alive the island’s custom of tapas, through a competition with attractive prizes for customers. Last year saw over 8,000 portions being served in the 31 participating venues, with Molí des Comte and 971 in Ciutadella being voted the best.
This year sees seven different regions around Menorca taking part, with 14 bars and restaurants in Ciutadella and the surrounding area, 2 in Cala Galdana, 2 in Fornells, 2 in Son Bou, 2 in Sant Lluís, 5 in Maó and the surrounding area and 5 establishments along Maó harbour.
